Mobile Band Saw Mill

We are able to facilitate mobile sawing of timber at your premises. We are located in West Wales but we can cover the majority of the UK mainland. We invested in a Loglogic Autotrek which boasts the largest capacity of any mobile saw mill, and extremely high levels of accuracy.

Here are some of the key advantages to mobile milling:

• Low Transport Costs - normal transport costs to and from a traditional mill no longer apply which offers a significant reduction in processing costs compared to other timber, especially on small numbers of high value materials.
• Huge returns on investment - air-dried seasoned hardwood timber product could be worth as much as £3000 for a 10 ft long, 3ft diameter tree. Compared to the price of firewood, this is a huge return. Even green timber is still worth £1000 for same size piece.
• Ready to use product - your timber will be ready to use for outside applications of anything that uses green timber. Alternatively, the product can be left sticked and stacked. Once seasoned and air-dried you will have a large supply of good quality timber.

Introducing our Loglogic Autotrek Mobile Band saw Mill

At Ystwyth Valley Sawmill, we quickly realised the importance of having the best equipment to do our job. That's why we invested in a Loglogic Autotrek mobile band saw mill (also used by the British Army). This particular band saw has the largest capacity of any mobile band saw and can:

• Cut board widths of up to 1 meter
• Handle logs of up to 1.4 meters diameter
• Handle logs up 6 meters in length
• Larger capacity timber can still be handled - we simply reduce the size before using the band saw

Combined with our fleet of 4 wheel drive vehicles, high-power winches and professional tree-surgeons we can clear and process almost anything, anywhere from simple tree-surgery jobs to complete wind-blows.

Timber can be processed to any size (within reason) for use on site, or taken away and cleared.

Accuracy and Precision

Our mobile band saw also boasts one of the highest degrees of accuracy for any mobile band saw. We can accurately cut planks within +-1mm tolerance making custom cutting lists fast and accurate. Cuts can be made at any angle as the sawmill simply rotates the timber, making complicated cuts and quarter-sawn pieces fast and with the highest degree of accuracy.

High-Quality Finish

The finished cuts are smooth with few of the cross-marks one expects from this type of machine - the pieces almost looks like they have been planed. This is thanks to the extra-wide blade on our band saw - again a factor of precision and accuracy we take for granted. Take a look at the images below for some examples of the cuts.
