Latest blog/news entry: At Ystwyth Valley Sawmill, we are a family run business who started off in the firewood industry. In practice we found that we had a surplus of high quality timber - too good for firewood - hence we decided to develop our business to make use of this quality wood.
To make use of this timber we purchased an Autotrek mobile sawmill. This mill easily handles large capacity timber up to 1 metre in width and 6.5 metres in length. The Autotrek mill - the leader of its type - uses wide blade technology with a digital measuring system giving a precision cut to within 1mm accuracy.
This mill will cut both hardwoods and softwoods with the same precision and ease. It is designed to cut the raw timber in a number of ways, including quarter-sawn for those needing a good grain and reduced risk of warping.
